2010 has been a very exciting year for the St. Louis Arc! We celebrated our 60th year of providing services and supports to people with developmental disabilities in these ways:
-
We moved into the new St. Louis Arc Centene Family Center, located at 1177 North Warson, in July of 2010. Read about and view photos from our Grand Opening Celebration for our friends, families, donors and supporters.

And finally, our 60th Anniversary Gala formally celebrated the St. Louis Arc's work and ongoing commitment to the people and families we serve. This very special event, which was highlighted by the announcement of our Building for a Lifetime Capital Campaign, raised $330,000 to support St. Louis Arc's program and services for people with developmental disabilities.

Back in 1950, the St. Louis Arc was founded by four families who had children with special needs. From that small grassroots beginning, we’ve evolved into a leader in the field, supporting 3,000 people and their families with a wide array of programs and services, including residential options, respite care, leisure programs, supported employment assistance and family organization meetings and activities. We are committed to supporting people so they can live the fullest, richest lives possible and achieve their goals.
In 1950, helping families was the St. Louis Arc’s primary focus. In 60 years, much has changed as we’ve evolved and grown as an organization. However, our basic tenant remains the same. We are dedicated to the families we support and committed to providing them a lifetime of high-quality services, family support and advocacy, now and for the next 60 years.
